Phi Beta Delta
Chartered on April 5, 2016, Theta Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars, recognizes and encourages high professional, intellectual and personal achievements in the field of international education, international exchange, and internationalization. The Chapter encourages interdisciplinary and inter-generational contacts and promotes the exchange of ideas and information among students, staff, and faculty of Shepherd University, the community, and other institutions and organizations.
Members of the Society enjoy conference and seminar offerings, professional networking, leadership opportunities, a mentoring program, and channels for publishing their scholarly work.
Theta Epsilon Chapter stands in solidarity against hate and discrimination of all kinds. The Society’s statement regarding Asian Americans is posted on the national website.

Henry Navarrete Mendez received the David Merchant International Student Award at the 2019 Phi Beta Conference held at Shepherd University. Award presented by Winnie Brophy. Sharon Ann Carpenter received the national outstanding staff award in 2020, and Dr. Ann Marie Legreid received the outstanding faculty award in 2020.
